Job Description

We are being retained by a $300+ million a year industrial contractor to seek and recruit for them a new Chief Estimator. This person will supervise a staff of twelve that include electrical, mechanical, and civil estimators. Work will be a combination of conceptual and full drawings work for the gas, steel, power, and chemical industries primarily. This person must have a strong knowledge of electrical and/or piping estimating since civil work is the smallest portion of our client\'s projects. The current Chief Estimator will retire early next year and our client wants to get this person into place as soon as possible to smooth the transition. The current Chief Estimator has been with the firm for over 30 years. This firm is looking for a long-term solution. Projects will typically vary in size from $10M to $100M. The Chief Estimator and the President decide what to bid on utilizing a large staff of draftsmen/designers especially in mechanical and pipe fab/sheet metal side. We are looking for a person who is skilled in dealing with owners, engineers, and suppliers alike -- a good people manager. This is a highly compensated role. Bonus is substantial. Benefits 100% covered for candidate and family. Vehicle is an option. Our client will relocate. You can easily live in a nearby rural area which is an ideal place to raise a family. Will consider a lead Senior Estimator. You must be able to relocate to the area in a reasonable time frame.

No one has been laid off in 17 years. Average tenure in the company is 26 years. In the next 5 to 8 years many leadership roles become available due to many retirements. Minimal travel.
