Because of disappointments with my last construction employer, I left the construction employer. How do I explain this to an interviewer without making it sound bad?

Whether or not you left on bad terms, never bash your previous construction employer as you don't want to burn your bridges. Describe the circumstances, trying to be as neutral as possible, by explaining the facts. What you expected, what happened, how you tried to resolve it, etc.
