What is Construction Senior Estimator Job Description ?

Responsibilities: * Train preconstruction staff * Prepare to final draft status preconstruction packages on both lump sum bid and negotiated project opportunities to our standards * Prepare packages and assist in purchasing of subcontracted work and major purchase orders * Actively represent Design and Subcontracting communities Day-to-day activities: Conceptual Estimating Take Offs/pricing of Key trades Specification Review General Conditions Review Prepare bid forms/Proposal Packages Oversee/Coordinating work of others in Preconstruction Team Organize preconstruction team and assign task Subcontractor solicitation and negotiations Communications with Account Executives and Clients during Preconstruction Present drafts of bids/proposals to Senior Management Education, Skills, & Experience Education: Required: Minimum 4 years in technical college in combination with specific industry related courses. Preferred: B. S. Construction Management Previous Job Experience: Required: Minimum 5 years Mid to Senior Level experience on 5 million plus commercial construction projects Desirable: 5 years plus experience as Senior Estimator on 5 million plus commercial construction projects Skills: Required: Conceptual Estimating(including Pricing) Subcontract Writing(detailed scopes of work) Significant negotiating skills History of meeting deadlines Communication and Presentation skills
