What is Construction Assistant Superintendent II Job Description ?

Job Description Duties: ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT II Assigned to a field construction organization in a general or single discipline supervisory position. Responsible for supervising and directing activities of construction craft within an assigned area of responsibility. Receives routine supervision and direction in the performance of assigned responsibility. On a large project, schedules and directs the sequence of work for several crews of the same craft operating within a single area. On a small- to medium-sized project, schedules and directs the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within a single area. The Structural/Rigging Field Superintendent is responsible for Structural and Rigging field construction and installation actitivities including Structural Steel erection and all Rigging operations at the unit level. This includes, but is not limited to, the folowing: -- Determine manpower, tools, equipment and material requirements for craft -- Develop daily craft assignments to be performed and review work accomplished -- Prepare short and long term schedules, interface with other discipline superintendents and field engineers -- Supervise and direct subordinate personnel and craft in construction activities within discipline -- Develop craft loading and manpower forecasts -- Monitor actual work performance compared to the project budget and schedule -- Coordinate activities with other diciplines and clients\' resident representative as instructed by construction management -- Perform personnel evalutions on subordinate personnel. Ensures the most current design documentation is being utilized to complete activities -- Coordinate subcontractor labor supervision and craft distribution as required -- Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs -- Provide leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project.
