Position Description Summary The position is responsible for providing outstanding technical and architectural expertise to a diverse portfolio of projects. The role demands a project architect with experience managing projects at all phases design development, bidding and contract development, construction phase and follow up to the completion. In addition, this person will be instrumental in executing LEED projects. This position must be committed to high quality design and personalized client service and must manage projects in a cost effective manner. As a project architect, this person will need to effectively communicate and manage relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, vendors, engineers and other municipal representatives in order to achieve established goals for a project. This person needs to have demonstrated the capability to drive all necessary project activities to completion. Technical competence and well developed project management skills are critical. Relationship management, problem-solving, discernment, communication, architectural excellence, decision making and collaboration are key skills and abilities needed for this role. Requirements 10 years (post-degree minimum) experience in Architecture; Team attitude Self-starting work ethic Self motivated 5+ years managing sizeable projects Architectural degree or equivalent degree required; licensed architect required LEED Accreditation strongly desired AutoCADD Architecture and REVIT proficient Strong graphic and free-hand sketching ability Takes initiative Collaborative in approach to project management Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously Excellent verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail, accuracy and skilled in commercial or institutional construction documentation Solid relationship management skills at all levels of positions internal and external to organization Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Project, Excel and proven ability to learn new software programs Some travel 25%-30%
