What constitutes as being disabled?

While the law protects disabled construction executives, not everyone with a physical problem qualifies as “disabled” under the law. According to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a physical problem must be long-term, and must “substantially limit” life activities; a broken leg does not qualify. In addition, the ADA covers only companies with at least 15 employees. Suddenly disabled construction executives should check with their human resources professionals, as some companies’ policies are more generous than the ADA.
