What makes for a good executive hire is more than great credentials and a perfect resume. Good executive selection involves assessing the executive's overall attitude, performance and business style to make sure it is compatible with the existing staff and overall construction employer. Selection should involve multiple decision makers (team approach) who plan the ideal profile in advance, and evaluate prospects from different perspectives. Decision makers should be those that will work directly with the selected executive, such as a trusted client, immediate boss, CEO, peer and possibly a key subordinate.
